Therapy for the Military Community

246656377The struggle is real.

Members of the military community, such as families, veterans, and active duty, face unique challenges in life.

Deployments, moves, uncertainties with the next duty station, raising children who may attend multiple schools, and other issues not generally experienced by civilians can be disruptive and stressful.

Those associated with military life need a therapist who understands their needs and who has been a child dependent, worn combat boots, and is now a veteran.

Let’s face it: Why should you have to explain what a PCS is or other specific military processes to a civilian?

1711680580Experience in the military gives me a unique perspective.

I’m a veteran of the US Army; I have been a veteran for 23 years. I specialized in military social work and mental health with one of my Master’s degrees.

Being in the military, I understand what it is like to experience active-duty discharge and transition back to civilian life. I know the VA healthcare system, working through service-connected disability claims, and the unique stress and frustrations or anxiety military folks go through.

Those in the military and their families are subject to many challenges, including TBI, PTSD, and other trauma, and it is essential to work with someone who can identify with these challenges.

I also understand what it is like to be dependent and move all over the world as a child, with both of my parents on active duty, and I know what it looks like to serve overseas. The military runs in my blood.

Let’s make the struggles you face easier.

Why waste time and energy with someone who doesn’t understand your unique needs?
